This training is for clinicians who want to provide affirming diagnostic assessments that bridge the gap between self identifying and neuropsych testing and increase accessibility for individuals looking to understand their neurodivergence. This training and assessment method centers client’s lived experience, and acknowledges the nuances of presentation and support needs. After completing this training, you will feel confident and capable to assess for Autism and ADHD, write a diagnostic report, complete work/college accommodation requests, and increase practice revenue.

Informed consent: Pros/Cons of diagnosis
Logistics of setting up assessments
- Note: most tools do not need additional training, however, some need to be purchased separately
NeuroAffirming diagnostic interview to assess Autism and ADHD. Confirm/rule out OCD, Bipolar Disorder, BPD, and C-PTSD
Review and integrate Sensory Profile, Brown Scale, and self-assessments
Report Writing including templates, resources, accommodations and suggested language
BONUS: full start to finish demonstration.

Objectives:

Participants will assess existing legal and ethical considerations for diagnostic assessments and employ assessment practices that fit within legal and ethical requirements.
Participants will evaluate logistical structures in order to establish accessible assessment procedures for equitable access.
Participants will build competence with seven validated, evidence-based assessment tools to utilize in their diagnostic assessments.
Participants will accurately assess and diagnose for ADHD and Autism through a neurodiversity-affirming lens, offering accurate, comprehensive, and high-quality assessment services.
Participants will modify existing assessment protocols to integrate neurodiversity-affirming approaches to diagnostic assessment.
Participants will design templates for neurodiversity-affirming diagnostic assessments for implementation in their clinical practice.

Note: This assessment model in designed for Adults. While the same model can be used for adolescents or teens, most K-12 schools will request a neuropsych evaluation.

Caution: Some states have a mandatory registry for new Autism diagnosis. Please check limitations if you are in DE, IN, NH, NJ, ND, RI, UT, or WV.
